Camille Griffin
I have been working at South Side Elementary since 2009. Prior to joining the South Side team I was a student at the University of Illinois where I earned my bachelor's of science degree in Special Education. While studying to be a certified Learning Behavior Specialist (my official title in the State of Illinois) I had practicum in several Champaign Unit 4 schools and had the privilege of learning with some of the districts best educators. I am proud to have been mentored by many great teachers including Mike and Jenny Slagor, Leslie Sullivan, and Izona Burgess.
My philosophy of teaching is best summed up in the quote "If a child can't learn the way we teach, we must teach the way the child learns."
I am currently taking courses to earn my Masters Degree in Bilingual Education through the University of Illinois Department of Curriculum and Instruction's Language and Literacy Department.
